Ring:
Ring is a circle made from metal or other material, often with jade. It is used for decoration or memorial or amulet or seal.
Background:
The first man who wore engagement ring is the king of Austria. In 1477,he knew Princess Mary in public. Her beautiful appearance and elegant behavior impress on him deeply and made him soon fall in love with her. Although the king had learned that Mary is Kronprinz of France, he wanted to win her love. So he decided to try his fortunate all the same. He ordered artisans to make a precious diamond ring and gave it to her. Faced with fine-worked, shining ring and passionate love of king, she changed his mind and agree to marry him.
Meaning:
It is still uncertain that which country invent the ring. However, in China,the ring at least has 2,000 history. According the literature, in Qin and Han Dynasty, women in China have worn the rings. Rings are not only the decoration, but also the memorial which is used to express bisexual love
With different jade rings have different meanings. Diamond stands for permanence, adeite is for love and pearl represent dignity, while amethyst for health fortunate and alertness.

ReplyDeleteI wonder how the Egyptians thought about rings. Strangely enough I cannot remember having seen any with Pharaos. Perhaps, I am mistaken. May be I have forgotten. I lost all my books, anyway.
