The 2009 Leonid meteor shower can be seen from November 13-20, and for United States watchers the most Leonid meteor shower activity will occur during the early morning hours of November 17.

NASA has predicted that the best time to view the Leonid meteor shower will be after 1:30 a.m. EST and before sunrise on November 17, 2009. Because the moon will not be visible from Earth (it will be darker) and will be in a new moon phase during the Leonid meteor showers peak, the meteors should be easier to see than ever before.

NASA states between 20-30 meteors per hour will be visible in the US. People in Asia should be able to see the most activity at 200-300 meteors per hour NASA has stated, but other astronomers are predicting that it could be as high as 500 an hour during the peak.

But during last week's conference, experts reported the first decrease in international financing for AIDS vaccine research. They say funding dropped from about nine hundred thirty million dollars in two thousand seven to eight hundred seventy million last year.
Also at the conference, scientists presented the latest findings about new mothers infected with H.I.V. Two studies showed ways in which anti-H.I.V. drugs could permit infected women to breastfeed their newborns with less risk of passing the virus to them. The research was done in Cameroon, Ivory Coast, South Africa and Zambia.
In other new research, a study has found that circumcision does not decrease the risk that H.I.V. positive men will infect women. The findings, from Uganda, are in the medical journal, The Lancet.

H1N1 Vaccine in China

Rcently, Sinovac has taken clinical experiment of H1N1 vaccine after biological and chemical experiment. Sinovac is a biology corporation in Beijing. And meanwhile another company Hualan biological Engineering Ltd took the same experiment in Beijing. It is predicted that the vaccine will be put into market in September this year.

The clinical experiment is the preparation for production in scale.Two groups of experiment need approximate 4000 volunteers to participate in

Aim to test the best
On July 24th, the volunteers have been injected with the H1N1 vaccine. The vaccines are divided into three styles, that is inactive vaccine with adjuvant (5mg 10mg), pyrolysis vaccine with adjuvant (7.5mg 15mg) and pyrolysis vaccine without adjuvant(15mg 30mg)
The experiment plan called for more than 1600 volunteers at four different age range: 3-11 years old, 12-17 years old,18-60years and above 60.
They will be injected 2 times at the internal of 21 days. aiming to test the availability and dosage of the H1N1 vaccine. In the same day, Hualan biological Engineering Ltd took the clinical experiment for 2000 volunteers. It is reported that by July 21st,8 series of H1N1 vaccines produced by Sinovac have been certificated by Chinese government.

According the manager of Hualan, the vaccines will be certificated by government in September and produced in scale. Finally, they will be put into market. The current vaccines are not temporarily put into market and owned by government for emergency.

He did not take temperature until the noon of May 11th.His temperature is up to 39 degree centigrade. Along with fever, he also has the symptom of headache and throat pain. However, he is not monitored by hospital. On that night, he got on the train D41 to Jinan .On the train., he reported to the hospital of Jinan. The doctor and staff came to separate him from others. Until now, the patient has been monitored for more than 24 hours. He is reported to have the normal temperature. Qing Ming Festival is coming. In China, Qing Ming is a traditional festival which people visit their ancestral graves. It is a tomb-sweeping day. On that day, people go to sweep tomb. By this, they express that they miss the relatives who have passed away. This year, many people gathered at Huang Di's grave to honor our ancestor Huang Di. Among them, I found Lian Zhan, the honorary chairman of Kuomintang party. He is the reprehensive of Taiwan compatriots.

I am very happy to see that we and Taiwan compatriots has more communication in various field, whether in commercial or in science. It is a significant event in Qing Ming Festival. But I think Qing Ming is not only a tomb-sweeping day. It is more important thing that it tells us treasure our present life. Although we is confronted more pressures, we don not lose confidence in the life. We should not be addicted to money and fame, ignoring our parents, friends, lovers and so on.
